Membership Application
Membership Overview
BCND and CAND membership are conveniently combined into one annual fee, with a 5% discount available for members who choose to pay in full as a lump sum by January. While we encourage the yearly lump sum payment for ease, members also have the option to pay their dues on a monthly basis if preferred.
Membership includes three distinct areas, represented in the icons below. BCND will remit dues to CAND on behalf of its members, with GST applied only to the CAND portion.
New members are asked to use our online application form to join BCND. Please allow one-two business days for processing.
Please note: Applicants who do not have their CCHPBC licence number will be required to submit their PRELIMINARY CONDITIONAL APPROVAL LETTER from the CCHPBC, before membership can be approved. If you have questions, please reach out to admin@bcnd.ca.
New Graduates
New naturopathic doctors who join within twelve months of graduating from college are eligible for a discounted rate of $78 per month. BCND dues are further reduced to $60 per month for the initial year of membership and the two following years. CAND also offers a staggered dues reduction, starting at $18 per month. Members who pay the full annual fee as a lump sum in January qualify for an additional 5% discount on total dues. click here to apply.
Student Member
BCND offers annual student memberships to individuals currently enrolled in accredited naturopathic colleges. The membership fee is $50, covering a term from September 15 of one year through September 14 of the next. For full details on membership benefits, click here.
FAQs
Once I have applied to the BCND, do I have to apply to the CAND as well?
No. BCND / CAND membership is combined. Once your application has been approved, the BCND automatically completes your registration with the CAND on your behalf.
What should I choose as my official start date?
Your membership start date should be your intended first day of practice.
How do I obtain malpractice insurance?
The BCND & CAND has a long standing agreement with a company called Partners Indemnity to provide naturopathic doctors with malpractice insurance. Partners Indemnity covers the full scope of practice for licensed NDs in Canada. Partners head office is located in Toronto, ON and must be contacted to obtain the naturopathic application forms.
