Today’s Theme: Pain Management and Sports Injury
Pain is not a disease. In most cases it is a symptom or component of disease- and 84% of people will experience back pain in their lives. Naturopathic doctors use many physical therapies to help patients manage and recover from injuries and pain, including: prolotherapy, acupuncture, and Bowen therapy.

Prolotherapy
In The 4-Hour Body, bestselling author Tim Ferriss set out to find the best way to resolve longstanding back pain. One of the major tools he found useful was prolotherapy, an injection therapy that can help heal ligaments and restore mobility. Superstar athletes such as Peyton Manning and Tiger Woods have received and benefitted from prolo. Many licensed naturopathic doctors are board certified in prolo. Bowen Therapy
Not all pain management involves needles. Bowen Technique is a non-invasive, gentle physical therapy that is particularly useful with infants and children. Naturopathic doctors will also discuss relaxation training, dietary considerations, cognitive strategies, biofeedback, and other modalities.
